Canonica is a family company, which provides services to Geneva international airport users since 1948. Its activity is focused on the food industry, especially the restoration dedicated to travellers. The company is exploiting in the Geneva international airport:
Born in a family of restaurants, he develops avant-guardistes ideas which allow him to transform his restaurant in a modern company until his death in 1985. Initiator of rich hors d’oeuvres as well as “quinzaines gastronomiques” and the famous Bouillabaisse du Mal Assis de Cannes, André Canonica had the ambition to continually innovate, and to become the pioneer of his customer new needs. In 1993, according to this family and innovating company mindset, a Breguet Atlantic was served to the refitting of the airport restaurants in order to conceive several kind of restoration, each was incorporated around the cockpit or the wing or the landing train or the queue of the plane, and it was not known that the panoramic see sight will be hidden by the new boarding room building of the west wing inaugurated in 2000.
An excellent reactivity
The infrastructure size of the company has become bigger according to the international airport of Geneva development. In the same way, its know how as well as its expertise have been developed to anticipate and fill the new travellers and other users needs.
In spite of the loss of some sales outlets, Canonica succeeds to grow up thanks to the new concepts implementations, which allows it to keep a good economic health and ensure its international development.
An international growth
Canonica produces and deliver meals to commercial and private planes in departure from Geneva since 1952. In the development perspective of this activity in Switzerland through an international catering group in 1999 and the abortion of this alliance in 2001, Canonica was asked by the International airport of Geneva to take again the catering concession given up by this international group which exploited this activity in 2003.
After a short absence of almost 4 years and half in this field, Canonica succeed to develop itself, focusing on the business aviation.
Canonica opened, the 10th of may 2007, an in-flight catering unit in Nice, which also deliver in Cannes. This Unit delivers to commercial and private aviton, the same services with the same standart as the others cities.
Ambitious projects
In order to develop its know how and its expertise abroad, Canonica holding works on new restoration concepts around two key targets: flexibility and productivity.
· In august 2008, Canonica opened a new Bar & Shop concepts located in the Satellite 20 of the Geneva International Airport: the “All you need”. A modern place providing to passengers a large choice of beverages, sandwiches, salads, chocolates and other products…
· Canonica was also present during the “Fête de Genève” where was gathered about 2 million visitors! The “BreakTime” vehicle provided fresh pasta with a large choice of sauces.
· Few months ago, Canonica took place in the heart of Lausanne, providing a new concept of wellness bar: The Wellness.
